rawsector

Topofon is rawsector's free field recorder for iPhone and iPad. Record with a built-in or external microphone, control iPhone recording from Apple Watch, and keep the place, coordinates, time and weather in the same log.

Choose an external microphone, audio interface or Bluetooth microphone available to iOS, and select the channels to record. Available inputs, channel counts and sample rates depend on your hardware and iOS. Record in stereo with iPhone's built-in microphones.
Record WAV or AAC, add markers and keep notes, a cover photo and an optional route. Browse logs in a list or on a map. Edit the range to keep while preserving the original recording. Supported devices run transcription and sound detection locally. With pre-roll on, keep up to a minute of sound from before you press record.
Start, pause, resume, add markers and stop recording on the paired iPhone. Check the elapsed time, log title and marker count on your wrist. Keep the iPhone nearby with Topofon installed.

Save logs on your device or an external drive you choose. Export WAV, FLAC, Apple Lossless or AAC with an accompanying log document.
Topofon has no accounts, ads, tracking or usage analytics. It requires iOS 26 or later. The Apple Watch app requires watchOS 26 or later and controls recording on the paired iPhone. Weather comes from measurements at the nearest station of a national weather service or airport, or from Open-Meteo’s forecast model if no station is nearby. Maps, address lookup and weather need an internet connection.
